Print flyers and let your neighbors know you will be TRAP TRAINING him to eat from a trap and once you catch him on camera you will be trying to trap him and it could take some time. You want to flyer door to door in case there is another neighbor who feeds cats - so they are aware of the situation and in case kitty comes around to that location .

AS an alternative to the standard DROP-TRAP TRAINING him to go inside the un-set trap after you've washed all the scent off of it and tried to disguise it adding a cover - branches /leaves etc ( in my first post)USING a DROP TRAP to train him to eat under the drop trap - which most cats have no problem doing and he won't have any fear of doing this because the drop trap isn't a small confined tunnel like the box trap that he was initially trapped in - DROP TRAPs are ecellent for target trapping - meaning if you have many stray cats (or a scared cat that just won't go inside a standard box trap) Then the best way to trap him is to offer wet food below the DROP TRAP for several nights - place enough food for several cats....then once you catch him on camera eating at night - you will never know unless you use a camera please buy one right now I'll even pay for it if you text me your address - it's a MUST - anyway, once you know he is eating under the DROP TRAP then the next night plan on trapping...trap training not only gets the cat used to going to the same fodo source at the same time - it saves you so much time because you're training him to come eat at sunset so when you plan to trap and do the stakeout it won't take all night to catch him---where you are holding the string from inside he house (leave door open so you can clearly see the trap 15 feet away for the drop trap ).IMPORTANT - you must must must watch this video on how to drop trap - you can't pull the string UNTIL his face is down in the food and he has slightly relaxed his body so that he can't escape the falling trap - YES they are that fast - and you don't want to injure him. If you have an experienced Drop Trap person that would be the time to get them to help you trap - after you've seen him eating on camera: HERE is a great video that made me learn how to successfully use the drop trap - i can't stress enough how imporatnt it is to learn this info - the BOX trap is easy - just have to maek sure only your cat goes into the box...but with the drop trap you must pull the string at the right time - not before the kitty has relaxed a tiny bit and the body is centered....MUST WATCH DROP TRAP TRAINING VIDEO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZEbMCG04GE

poor kitty - please understand he is hiding very near. I have had to do this several times due to a newly trapped cat being let outside accidentally. HERE IS WHAT TO DO: BUY a basic camera asap on amazon 💥💥Mini Blink WIFI camera : https://a.co/ihc7BSy OR WYZE WIFI Waterproof Camera $29: https://a.co/d/4assVvK (get a Micro SD Memory Card: https://a.co/d/44AXvel) free 30 days of icloud storage - you can always return or repurpose either camera) AIM the camera at where you will place the trap (trap opening) - place the trap against your house this is best - make sure it doesn't rock at all - make sure it is level (place a vinly mat or towel or cardboard underneath whatever makes it stable. Place the TRAP nearest to the door to your residence nearest to where he escaped from the trap. (BACKYARD i'm asuming??) What you must do is start "trap training" him ..meaning before sunset place 1-2 cans worth of wet food only - NO DRY - inside a small dish/bowl inside the trap but do NOT SET the trap. We don't know WHEN he will feel safe enough or hungry enough to go back inside the trap. So you cannot set the trap. Before this you must wash the trap with soap and water to remove his smell from the trap or he will remember what happened and won't approach - you will then try disguising the trap by covering the sides with a vinyl mat or place branches with lots of leaves all around the trap - you want it to look and smell different....Clamp the DOOR so it remains open using zip ties or a binder hook - the idea is that once he is hungry enough to come out of hiding that he eats from inside the trap..this could take up to 1 week..get the camera so you can get notifications of movement and KNOW when he actually does - THEN THE NEXT NIGHT YOU CAN SET THE TRAP AND WAIT FOR HIM TO RETURN - you are supplying wet food in bowl every sunset (never leave food in can - will cut the mouths and tongues of cats) The reason why you can't leave a trap unmonitered is you will trap another cat (your neighbor's cat or a stray cat that needs to be fixed and you don't have an appt to get that cat fixed ) and the worst is that a cat can be ED from inside a trap by a predator who hears and smells kitty thrashing around after being trapped. You must be there to watch the trap once set and cover it immediately with a blanket or towel to calm down kitty after being trapped. Start placing wet food in dish bowl before sunset TONIGHT ... hunger always wins...he will go to the food but his hunger threshold must overtake his fear ...if there are many stray cats you might do this AM and PM until he is spotted on camera eating then ONLY at sunset ....until you can actually take the evening to TRAP - then set the trap and watch from inside - watch from the camera on your phone (or better yet buy a baby monitor to also aim at the trap door so you can see every second if he or any other cat comes...) When you are waiting for him to come during your stake out - if another cat comes i usually will have beans or small pebbles handy and will toss NOT at the cat but in the other direction - it will scare that cat away - or open the window or door (not too loud) it will scare off the non-target cat. The motion activated camera to 1st catch him coming to the food source is CRUCIAL - it's cheap and will prove to you IF he's coming or not. YOu will also want to PRINT FLYERS and talk to your immediate neighbors 10 deep in all directions letting them know this poor injured cat is scared and hiding ...and to let you know if they see a new black cat on their RING camera at night - he will hide all day i guarantee you. Sending this message with only love in my heart - be patient - it usually takes up to a 1 week to get the scared cat coming to the food source - THEN plan to do a STAKEOUT when you acutally set the trap and WAIT and watch the entire time - it's the only ssafe way to do this. ❤️ 🙏
