Message from Finder

Can someone post in on national pet search? Please. When first siting him he walked funny. Question was, is he exhausted, is he injured? He was both - all 4 paws have signs of skin scraped. He was looking for food and shelter. He seemed to be on his own and starving for several months based on his body image. It took a good while to accept the human offering food. Once he trusted, he started coming closer, and also started wagging his tale (that up to then was stuck to his belly). Soon after he allowed to be petted and even asked to be petted. Knows the “sit” command. Very loving fellow.

Google: What to do if you find a starving dog (Lots of helpful advice there, including emergency vet clinics in the area that will help you.

Paul Mifsud I have him currently and he is being fed, but he has a prey drive for my cats and it is traumatizing my kids (who have always wanted to foster dogs) so I cannot keep him much longer. If you know of anyone that may be able to foster this guy and nurse him back to health, that would be much appreciated. I also have a lot of family coming into town this Wednesday so I won’t have anywhere for him in the house.

He was lost or abandoned and almost starved to death. All he needs is food. Anyone reading this with a backyard should consider adopting him if you can.

Please keep him and feed him ... he will gain the weight back in a month or two. Do not let him out of your yard. He was abandoned. You are his angel. Don't give up. If you turn him in to the shelter. they might euthanize him because they will say he is not adoptable. I once turned in a nice dog missing patches of fur, and they euthanized him the next day, saying he had a skin condition.

Mary Clare Kilzer I’ve filed the report, and the finder checked for a chip and he doesn’t have one.

Corina Andresen Thank you!! Reach out to the Hayward animal shelter to file a report/see if there's a chip. Yeah it looks like there's a similar looking dog that was also recently found in the Highland neighborhood (I posted in the Hayward Area Lost & Found Pets FB group and got updates that the dog was found in the Highland neighborhood). Claudia De La Rosa and Sabrina Mian-- tagging you both because it sounds like there's 2 similar dogs? Maybe they're related?
