I'm yes I'm posting this because this is actually my tortoiseshell cat I actually saw the post as of I think 7/20 0r something like that, and I reached out to the person that actually stated that they saw the cat in their client's yard and all the way in Fortson Georgia. My cat actually is from Columbus Georgia. She is a 13 year old house cat. This person initially was hard to contact, while her post was " concerning" about "this baby needing her family"...I finally got in contact and went out there today. She and whoever her "client" is told me to leave after telling me where to come so I could search for her. They asked me away from their yard stating that the owner didn't want anybody in their yard because I guess he wasn't home. I have pictures of my cat on their property sent by the person that put the post up. Rather than help, she began to act weird....I also have messages from this person that they allowed someone else to pick up my cat that claimed she was theres and later dropped her back off stating she was not.... The person invited me into the yard and told me where I could come to seek my my cat seems like something it kind of funny is going on. I am also not believing my cat would have gotten all the way from Bradley Park in Columbus two Fortson Georgia. I came all the way out to find her and get her and then I'm told to leave and then I'm actually not giving the opportunity to find her and then you sent me pictures of where she is in the yard where she normally is I went to check those places before I was told to leave.. I have the opportunity to at least get you know her location. She wanted "this baby' in her words reunited with their family and that's not the way I was treated when I went to retrieve my cat I have pictures of my cat sent by her and know she is my cat. Why am not being allowed to rescue my own animal?

Ibis Reyes I can’t tell if the cat in this post has a clipped ear or not. It also kind of looks like the cat above is intact(not neutered) but I can’t tell from the picture alone. My girl has a clipped ear and was fixed years ago

You may already know all this. PAWS Community Cat Program is free to Muscogee County citizens. Contact the Coordinator at 678-689-4323, if you have any questions. You can get traps at PAWS with 2-3 vouchers and make an appointment to bring them in. Line with newspaper and put a trail of small bites of tuna toward the back. Put a bigger amount and press down at the back. Staff will show you how to set the trap. NORMALLY the Clinic has walk-ins Mon-Thur 7:30-1030. But if PAWS Humane says it's too late or they don't have any surgery slots available DON'T RELEASE THE CAT. Take cat to PAWS ANIMAL SERVICES INSTEAD, next door to PAWS, opens at 10. The earlier you can get there, the better, cause slots are limited at the Clinic. Animal Services will contact the Coordinator to come over and get the cat. Spay/neuter, 3-year rabies 1-year FVRCP and one month flea prevention for FREE. If you can't transport, but can contain in a trap or carrier, PAWS Animal Services (PAWS Humane took over Columbus Animal Control in Feb 2025) will pick up and contact PAWS Community Cat Program to get the cats. They come back the day after surgery to get back to their caregiver. IF SICK OR INJURED OR IF not thriving, the Vet will make an assessment. Many cats have had surgery for a bad eye or broken leg or given antibiotic vaccines and returned to caregiver. The traps do not cost anything unless you don't bring them back. You have to give a credit/debit card info but that is only used if you don't return the trap. You can leave cash which is kept with the form you sign with the trap #, but cash is not necessary. If you have many showing up or you are disabled, please text (678) 689-4323. They can send someone to trap them for you. If you can handle the cat, Animal Services, any Vet, or Rescue can scan to see if he has a microchip. If their caregiver has abandoned them, please make sure PAWS Animal Services Officer knows that. Thanks so much! 🙂
