Thanks to each and every one of you for your concern and comments. Just to be clear, we have had Great Pyrenees for years and still do have them guarding our livestock. We know and understand their specific needs. The dog has been checked for a microchip and doesn't have one. He is being well cared for as if he were one of our own livestock guardian dogs here on our farm. Our love for dogs in general, and this breed in particular is the reason we took the time to get the dog off of the heavily traveled Snow Camp Rd, take him to our vet, give him love, food, water, and shelter. He is already warming up to us and will come up and lick our hands while wagging his tail. We are doing what we can to make sure this dog and his owner are reunited. Thanks again!

It could be a dog that is free for a long time, there were several either the first part of this year or the last quarter of last year, there was 4 dogs and I never saw where they were found!! Or it could be one that is newly lost!! Put up posters w/ph.no./email 1 to 10 mile radius, ask anyone if they know the owner, give them a poster, put the posters near the roadway and businesses so people will see them, ask neighbors if they know the owner!! Email All VETS a poster w/ph.no./email, ask them if they know the dog, is he microchipped and registered?? Come online here every day and make sure this post is online every day!! Put a sign in your yard and on the street corner, FOUND LOST DOG, get Proof of Ownership!! Check Pawboost, Pawboost Community, Next Door, X, & 24petconnect periodically, you can also put him online with Next Door, X, & 24petconnect because some people don't come online FB!! There are also LOST AND FOUNDS ALAMANCE COUNTY, NC online here and some have just the person's name!! Check with several pounds to see if anyone has come in or called about the dog!! If you decide you do not want the dog, PLEASE give him to someone you know well, a NO- SHELTER, SPCA (not ASPCA) or other organizations (except PETA), HUMANE SOCIETY, PLEASE do not give him to the pound, pounds have moved up their days or euthanasia!!!
