Message from Owner

Hi everyone, my 2 year old female tortoise colored (black with orange speckles) cat Maple, escaped on Monday, October 12, while being transferred to her carrier after being spooked. She went missing around 4298-4200 NW 75th Ave, Coral Springs, FL 33065. Unfortunately she was wearing a breakaway collar and it came off leaving her airtag on it behind as well. She is about 8-9 pounds, vocal, friendly, and her face is round and her body is long and slim. Her ears are rounded as well. She is microchipped and I put flyers up around my immediate area, but haven't had luck so far. If you see her or even think you see her anywhere please please contact me at). She is not an outside cat. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you!!

Look for her at night when it's quiet and bring a bag of treats with you. Shake the bag and call her name. Look under cars and in the bushes. Post flyers.

Put smelly wet food outside, hav a hart traps work, check them often. At night shine a flashlight you may catch reflection of his eyes. Check shed, garages, under cars, anyplace he could hide or be stuck. Put up flyers, especially at vet offices. Talk to neighbors, ask if they have security cameras that may catch him walking by. They tend to move early morning and evenings. Put out used litter and fav humans worn clothes, familiar smells help bring them in. If possible, leave a patio or garage door open so he can get in. Contact rescues & county shelters, take a pic. Physically check county shelter often, they are busy. She will be very scared & may go into survival mode, she may not respond to you. Some wait until they're starving to come out for food. Keep food/trap out & check often. If you have another cat, try putting them outside in a SECURE carrier. Their meows may call the lost one in. Pray. Don't give up!

Post on Nextdoor.com, ring.com and in Coral Springs Neighbors and Friends, Coral Springs, FL Residents & Friends, Coral Springs-Parkland-Coconut Creek-Margate-Community Forum, Lost and Found Pets of Broward and Miami Dade Counties, Lost and Found PETS of SE Florida - Broward, Dade & Palm Beach County's and Lost Pets of Broward, Dade and Palm Beach Counties. Contact Broward County Animal Care and the Coral Springs Humane Unit and report her lost and post fliers in your neighborhood on all major intersections, supermarkets, pet stores and veterinary offices. Report her lost to the county. You can do it online at www.24petconnect.com or by emailing ACADFoundPets@Broward.org. Go to the shelter in person and check their website daily for new intakes. Let all your neighbors know she's missing and ask them to check their garages and sheds. Cats often hide during the day. At dusk and dawn walk around the neighborhood, shake a container with treats and call her name. Take a flashlight and look in bushes and hiding places. If possible, leave a door, window or the garage door cracked in case she comes back during the night. I hope you find her soon! https://www.broward.org/Animal/Pages/LostAndFound.aspx https://www.pawboost.com/blog/how-to-recognize-and-avoid-the-lost-pet-scam/?utm_source=Pinterest&utm_medium=organic
