Message from Owner

Actually he was taken. I didn't see it but that's what I expect. It happened within a few hours. I fed him let him out. Let him out at about 5. Expected him to be back in about 30 minutes, that's when I cracked the door for him to come back in. And nothing for hours, even went out and called for him. Nothing. So please everone help me find my Fred.

Rita Barbour he will definitely go to someone cause he's not a stray. He's very friendly.

James Ballard cats can go looking as early as 4 months old so not sure how old but if he was real small may be stuck somewhere. Defined posters up as someone may have thought a stray and picked up for safety. Follow tips to help in case he’s still out there🙏🏼

Rita Barbour I did and came up with nothing. I believe someone took him. Just fed and let him out to play. He's not old enough yet to be lookin to get laid. But anyway, I expected him to be back to eat again in 30 minutes like clock work. But he didn't this time.

LOST CAT TIPS So sorry! May be injured and hiding, search with flashlight looking for eyes. Search everywhere! Someone recently found their cat who was lost almost a month stuck in a drain ditch 7 houses from where the cat was lost from. Cats don’t usually go far unless not fixed (un neutered males will travel far looking for female- get them fixed and will stay closer to home) picked up or hitched a ride, search, scent and posters are key to finding them, go slow and call in normal tone. Indoor only are typically within 7 houses while outdoor cats can be 17 houses away or further because something disturbs their territory and they run further and get lost or stuck. -Report as lost to shelter ASAP and check there daily! -If chipped, alert chip company (ensure chip is up to date) -Search with flashlight for eyes under decks, in sheds, crawlspaces, drain ditches, garages, etc….maybe too scared to come out and needs to hear your familiar tone. Especially drains, they can get in and can’t get out! Look high in the trees could be stuck! They can hide up to 10 days! If considering a tracker, need to get within two weeks for optimal scent( I can recommend some if interested) -Some cats recognize their owners voice (familiar sound they use with them). Sit outside at dark, using that sound and listen for them, and have some stinky food with you. If they have a dog or cat Buddy record them and play it -Lure them back with scent (stinky trail mix and set up a food station with food and water with a camera) -If safe leave door cracked where they got out with food trail going in -Leave garage door cracked with food inside -Get lots of posters out as they help reunite many pets! Many don’t have social media! -Post on Nextdoor, Ring, pawboost, petfbi. Org , lostmykitty .com and Lost & Found Pets of North Carolina -If in woods, create a stinky mix of mackerel juice spray high in trees and sprinkle some on ground leading back home along with dirty clothing ending at a feeding station at home with camera. -If inside only cat and not seen going out, do a thorough search inside (could be stuck somewhere) and if you had any recent construction work at home, check the areas the work was done.
