Message from Owner

We absolutely miss our baby boy, I took him in for my aunt who had a stroke and ran out while we were taking our trash out. He wasn’t used to our area as he moved from Smyrna . Please if you see him contact me immediately by email but preferably text message. Thank you so much!

Andi Smith yes the nearby animal shelters have my information and said they’d call if he comes in. I will post in Smyrna pages I didn’t think about that. Thank you !

Missing since August? Please keep checking with local animal control every week. Keep up large missing cat posters, up to 1 - 2 miles away in all directions, and post on all local social media groups. You might also notify animal control in Smyrna, and the neighbors of where he used to live. While not super common, it's not unheard of for animals to travel back to where they used to know.

I am so sorry about your Kitty being lost. Put the Owner's worn clothes outside all around the house or where the kitty was lost. Kitties don't go far, but they do hide a lot. When it is quiet and darker, go out and shake her food bowl and treat bag and hopefully she will hear it and come out. Take a flashlight out at night Kitty’s eyes will reflect and make the kitty easier to see. Talk quietly to her like you would if she was inside - yelling can scare them, though this is what we want to do because we want them HOME!! Knock on doors. Someone may have taken your Kitty in so she/he doesn't get hurt. Also ck with your Neighbors and ck their storage areas, sheds, etc. I know of a Kitty who was found in a storage room that had only been open for 5 mins. Put out flyers everywhere - stores, intersections, etc., and put the info on your car windows so that it gets the info out to more people. Use multiple actions to find your Pet...using only one may limit your success in getting your Kitty Home. Look inside over and over. Shake treats. Open food cans if you use canned food. - Any sound that the Kitty may come to. They are very good at hiding so she may have never left the house. Check with delivery people (mail, Amazon, Fed Ex, UPS, etc.) to see if they have seen your Pet. Ask your Neighbors to check their outdoor cameras. I'll be Praying for the Kitty to be found soon! Also, open the door he escaped from and leave open as long as possible. He will try to come back in that same way. If you haven’t already, try putting the pet on PawBoost.com. They help find lost pets. This link has some really helpful info as well: https://www.facebook.com/MissingAnimalResponse/ Do be careful of scammers. Some people call or text and say they have your Pet just to get money. Pitiful!!

I’m sorry to hear your cat is missing. I have heard great success stories when owners put out used pet bed and owner’s worn clothing. This helps set up a scent perimeter, helping the cat find the direction of home-even if they’re used to venturing outside (they can detect scent over a mile away). Many don’t come out of hiding until the wee hours of the morn so may be worth setting an alarm and setting up near an open door closest to your scent items. If you’re on an upstairs apartment, petfinders recommend you look on bottom floor nearest your scent items, as kitties don’t have a great concept of levels. They may return but only to the ground level floor. If you’re able hang flyers and check with neighbors and nearby businesses, this could really help. Your baby may have snuck into a shed, garage, or crawl space when the door was open. I had a kitty that did this once. We found her (healthy, but hungry) in a crawlspace a block away. Sending positive energy and hoping that your baby makes it home safely and quickly
