Sweet little kitty found in Hartford! So friendly and vocal, a cuddle bug. Kitty is not chipped, but want to check and see if someone is looking for them!

I asked Ai for tips: Thanks for sharing this finding! To help reunite this cat with its family, here are the most effective local steps: • Post on the Ring / Neighbors App: Download the free Neighbors by Ring app to post the photo, cross-streets, and time found. It alerts nearby Hartford residents directly on their phones, where many pet owners check first. • Scan for a Microchip: If the cat is friendly and indoors with you, bring it to a local vet clinic or 24/7 hospital (like Connecticut Veterinary Center nearby on Park Rd) to get scanned for a microchip free of charge. • Contact City Animal Control: Call Hartford Police Department Animal Control at (860) 757-4000 (or dispatch non-emergency at 860-757-4000) to file a official "Found Cat" report so they can match it against lost pet filings. • Post on Local Facebook Groups: Share the alert in active local pages like Hartford CT Community, West End Hartford Community, and Lost & Found Pets of Hartford County. • Check for an Ear Tip: Look closely at the top of the left ear to see if it is clipped flat. An eartipped ear identifies a spayed/neutered community cat cared for by an outdoor feeder in the area. • Provide Fresh Water: Ensure fresh water is available while you work to trace an owner or get a microchip scan.

Thank you for helping! I used to admin several lost and found pet pages and these are suggested tips for a found cat: Please contact animal control and local vets in case owner called them looking. They’ll also scan free for a microchip if you can bring cat in. You may want to post signs for those not on social media. If the cat has a collar without a tag, pls check the inside of the collar as some now have the contact info stamped or printed on the inside. Some have it on the buckle. If female, pls check stomach for /nursing mom and check area for kittens. Be very cautious of those claiming to be owners; ask for proof and/or vet records. There are many people who have ill intentions towards animals especially cats. If you are unable to do any of the above, PLEASE don’t just give the cat to anyone but a reputable rescue who will do their due diligence to find owner or screen potential adopters to find a loving home. Note...if you’re considering finding a new home for this cat...in most states by law, you have to give owners a chance to come forward before rehoming any pet.
