Jackeline Gonzalez She is safe and loved on in our home…. We are taking great care of her. I have taken everyone’s advice and gone through the appropriate channels to find her family. I’ve even gone back to her neighborhood, taken her to the vet twice (once for a chip check and once of a health checkup), and paid for ads on social media. No luck…. We hope to adopt her if we cannot find her family. She’s very sweet and my kids love her.

Report the dog found to all area vet offices, scan for a microchip at any vet/ER vet office. Report the dog found to the local county shelter - often can be done online. They may ask you to foster while the dog is advertised as found giving time for the owner to come forward. If the owner does not come forward and the stray hold is up, then the dog can be legally adopted through the shelter. If you can’t foster for the shelter, ask them about your options for the dog. Post FOUND DOG signs at intersections, along the street and adjacent streets; subdivision entrances for a 1- to 2-mile radius from the point found. Do not adopt or giveaway a just found dog/pet, it is illegal to do so. Go through the shelter. If someone claims they are the owner, require proof, vet records, pictures etc.
