Message from Finder

I found this poor baby behind Palm Springs apmts on Forest Hill and Kirk. He is wearing an orang collar. He’s injured unfortunately so I had to call PBC Animal Control. I have the case number if anyone recognizes him. Please share if you do recognize.

Posting my advice. I saw he went to a shelter. Do what you can do. 🐾FOUND DOG PROTOCOL- Follow the Law KNOCK ON NEIGHBOR’S DOORS IMMEDIATELY. 🚨MUST get proof of Ownership! Please report to local police and animal control as owner has probably made a lost pet report. This is a law. Finders must report a found pet. 🐾Just remember Found Animals can’t be re-homed by you. You have to make an effort by law to find the owner and if not turn over to Animal Control who will take to the shelter your town contracts with. ⬇️ Please knock on your neighbors door up to two miles, although not all dogs run far when they get out. Hand them Found Dog flyers. Get proof of ownership before you hand the dog over! Proof of ownership is: Multiple pictures from their phone of them with the dog or the dog, dog’s name, Vet receipts. Please also check the Facebook lost pet pages local to your town. You can also take to a Vet for free service of scanning for a microchip. Please do everything you can to find the owner because once animals go into the “system” when animal control is called there is only a 7 day hold period before they can legally adopt out. Going into a shelter places a tremendous amount of stress on an animal and because of the stress they are prone to biting as it’s their only defense mechanism. Thank you for helping! Animals choose their rescuers. We can’t let them down.

Elisha Silva you did. Thank you for doing it. A dog named Camo was brought in today, I’m hoping it was him.

Dustin Haff there was no answer repeatedly. He was injured and could not walk. I did what I thought was the best option to help him.

Dustin Haff they estimate the age. He must have nice teeth. Did you or did the shelter get a hold of the owner? I’m a volunteer at the shelter I was trying to get his medical info but I can’t. He’s standing in this picture.

Elisha Silva I think the above dog is him and owners names are at the bottom of this thread. If the above dog is him he is chipped and tagged plus phone number on collar according to a friend of his owner.
