Message from Owner

Jack is a gray (blue-gray) short-haired tabby with faint striping and dark rings on his tail. He has yellow-green eyes, a lean medium build, and was wearing a dark/black collar when last seen. Jack is very gentle and usually loves all people, but he may be scared and hiding due to being lost. He may approach if spoken to softly. Please do not chase—take note of the location and contact us right away. Thank you so much for helping us bring Jack safely. 💙

Leave some of your laundry outside your home to help him find his way home by scent. Also leave a door, lower window, garage door cracked open enough for him to find a way back into the home. They normally try to get back inside the same way they got out. If he is scared, he may be moving at night when it is quieter and looking for a way back inside. Hope this helps 🙏

If the owners see this, I can teach you how to successfully trap him since he was seen!

Hi, this helped me bring my cat back and several of my neighbors' cats.. I copied from another post when my cat was missing and it helped bring her home and have since shared it many times. Natalie……I helped run a cat rescue for years. What I’m sharing here come from professionals who know what works to find your cat. Please take the time to read. Please know that cats stay close to home……between 2 houses and 2 blocks. YOU looking aggressively gives high odds of finding Debbie. They will hide under things like a deck. My friends looked all day and then went back out after dark with a flashlight and found Marley hiding under the next door neighbor’s deck. His eyes glowed from the flashlight. He did not respond to their calls which is typical as cats are in protective from predators mode. They are scared. That’s why looking hard is critical. Cats will try to return home between dusk and dawn. Crack open a garage or regular door to make it easy for Debbie to come back inside. Sleep nearby so you can hear her if she tries. Someone told me they did this. Their cat walked into the kitchen while they were eating dinner. Someone shared they found their cat trapped in a neighbors camper. Ask your neighbor’s to check their structures. A cat owner told me she asked her neighbor to do this. Her cat was hunkered and hiding in his garage. People have shared finding their cats by putting out flyers with the cat’s image in the area. Your odds are significantly increased of finding Debbie if you go door to door with those flyers. Someone did this and found an elderly couple had taken in his cat. A number of folks found their cats by going out late at night and quietly calling to their cats with positive results. They came running. Calling to your kitty, use a calm, loving voice like you normally talk to Debbie. I was out every day calling to and looking for my cat. He could hear me and did eventually return after a few days while I was outside working in the yard. My other cat was spooked up a tree so look up! Professionals have shared putting out a litter box will attract other cats to your house which will deter Debbie’s return. Put out something with your smell on it like a pillowcase and a piece of your unlaundered clothing. Report Debbie missing to The Humane Society or any animal shelters in case she turns up there. Go there every few days to look for her. People have found their cats doing that. ❤️🐾🙏 If he/she has a chip, please make sure it has all of your current info so you can be contacted if shes found. Please post on Lost and Found pets pages. Also, cats are usually close to home. They will not come when called bc they are afraid. Check in drainage ditches and under cars and bushes. You can use a flashlight at night to look for their reflecting eyes. Put in a missing cat report at your local animal shelter. Also keep your windows and doors or garage door cracked IF you have no other indoor animals that can get out and if safe for you to so so. Put your smelly clothes outside and keep refreshing them every couple of days so they know where home is. If they got spooked they may be disoriented. Do NOT put out a dirty litter box bc it can attract bully cats or predators. Only put out food when you can watch it. **If you know anyone that hunts you can use a game camera that will take snapshots of moving critters at night. You can also aim any alarm cameras toward the ground. Otherwise you can purchase these cameras. Put up signs everywhere, as not everyone is online, such as young kids that may be outside playing and see your cat, or elderly people. Also tell all of your neighbors kitty is missing. Everyone needs to bang on their car hood before driving in case shes hiding in there. From another post: I'm sorry kitty is missing. Hang fliers--they work. Notify the microchip company that she is missing. Visit local animal controls in person. Notify local veterinarians. Post to the Next Door app for area lost. If kitty is normally indoors only she is likely very close to home. Sit quietly outside at night w a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Put out stinky mackerel or canned pink salmon. A trail cam can be helpful. You might need a live trap. Don't lose hope. Best of luck. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-pet-behaviors/kitty-litter-myth/
