Create a scent station (items with your/your dog’s smell - unwashed bedding, clothing, toys, etc.). Check it often, especially when things are quiet (late evening/early morning). This step especially important if in an unfamiliar area! If you have another dog, walk the area with it on a leash. Check nearby Ring/security cameras in the area. Post simple signs (large photo, word “lost” and your phone number) in your yard and neighborhood. (Put in a plastic sleeve/page protector first.). Contact the microchip company (plus be sure your contact info is up-to-date). Check the Shelter(s) at least every other day - in person! You know your pet best. Post on the NextDoor app which covers your surrounding neighborhoods. When your pet is spotted, do not call or chase him/her! Just sit down on the ground and be very quiet.
