Contact: CT Dog Gone Recovery for immediate support and search assistance. Have a recent photo ready. If your dog is missing: 🔍 SEARCH CLOSE FIRST Most dogs that slip out or get loose stay within a few blocks of home. • Bring treats, a leash, and something that smells familiar • Call calmly and gently • Do NOT chase — scared dogs often run farther 🏡 CHECK EVERY POSSIBLE HIDING SPOT Ask neighbors to check: • Garages • Sheds • Under decks • Bushes and porches Also contact: • Local Animal Control • Non-emergency police department • Nearby shelters and veterinary offices ⚠️ Turn off any electric/invisible fence on your property in case your dog is afraid to cross back over it. 📢 GET THE WORD OUT FAST Post in: • Local Facebook groups & town pages • Nextdoor • PawBoost Repost at different times of day for better visibility. 📄 MAKE SIMPLE FLYERS Include: • Large “LOST DOG” headline • Clear recent photo • Phone number in large font • Last seen location 🧠 IMPORTANT TIPS • Search early morning and late evening when it’s quieter • Leave bedding or a worn shirt outside your home-hang high if possible to allow scent to travel further • Keep one person home in case your dog returns on its own • Offer a reward if possible ⚠️ SAFETY REMINDERS • Do not chase • Sit low, stay calm, and use a soft voice • If someone says they found your dog, ask for proof before handing over any reward or information S/N: Cats and dogs often stay close to home. Please spay/neuter and microchip your pets if you haven’t already. There are many hazards and dangers outdoors.

If you have not already, please contact nonemergency Police Department so they can contact you if anyone calls in any sightings. Also leave a message for animal control and if you have a ring camera and if you don’t find a neighborhood, who does And post on the ring camera make sure you leave something with your scent on an outside, like a dog bed or a blanket.
