Message from Finder

I was awaken by this cat loundly crying outside this morning (01May2026) around 6am. Saw kitty crouched under a car and try to lure it out with food to place him inside a carrier but garbage truck drove by and scared him off. Appeared scared, don’t think it’s an outside cat. This picture was actually taken by another neighbor who spotted this same kitty yesterday around the same area.

Can you contact East County Animal Rescue or Whiskers Without Borders to see if they can come out and trap him? They can check for injuries and fix him, and check for a microchip. Please make sure to thoroughly vet the person claiming to be the owner. Make sure to ask for proof of ownership from anyone claiming to be the pet's owner. This can include photos of the owner or family with the pet, adoption papers, vet or grooming records or a matching microchip, and possible scar or marking that only the owner would know. People are known to falsley claim a pet that is not theirs and do bad things to them.
