🚨 MISSING BLACK CAT — PLEASE HELP US FIND MAMA 🚨 Mama went missing during the early morning hours of September 11th in the South Rockwood, MI 48179 area. She is all black and is an indoor/outdoor cat. Mama is my mom’s baby. She is incredibly loved and spoiled, follows my mom everywhere, and is her constant little companion. ❤️ My mom is already going through an incredibly difficult time watching my dad battle cancer, and having Mama disappear on top of everything else has been absolutely devastating for her. We desperately want to bring her baby home. 🙏 PLEASE check your garages, sheds, barns, under decks and porches, crawl spaces, bushes, cameras, and anywhere Mama could have unexpectedly gotten trapped or taken shelter. Because she is completely black, she can be very difficult to spot, especially at night. If you see an unfamiliar black cat — even if you aren’t sure it’s Mama — please take a photo and contact us with the exact location. Please don’t chase her. Please share and help us bring Mama home to my mom. Every set of eyes helps. ❤️🐾

If Mama is normally an INSIDE cat... then she is definitely scared and hiding and you will need to go out at NIGHT with a flashlight and look for her “glowing” eyes. She is VERY CLOSE to your house… most likely in YOUR OWN YARD. They usually find a hiding spot very quickly and very close to where they escaped. Look up in the trees and CHECK UNDER EVERYTHING in YOUR YARD first… under decks, under sheds, inside bushes, wood piles and storm drains. Then check your neighbors yards. They are very good at hiding. THE BEST TIME TO FIND HER IS AT NIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT AND HER EYES WILL “GLOW” BACK AT YOU. Mama is so scared, she will NOT respond to you calling her, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears to find her. When cats are suddenly outside, they go into "survival mode" and their entire personality changes. They will NOT wander. They find a hiding spot very close by and are very scared and will not come out for anyone... even their owners. I hope you find your fur-baby very soon!

this is a very bad time for cats to be outside right now. this month leading into Halloween there are evil people doing rituals with these cats, Also some people are using them for dog bait for dog fighting. Please keep your cats inside or if you want them to be out put a leash and harness on them or build a catio with tunnels for them to run in. Hope you get your cat back-I would be knocking on doors every house and put the heat on -have people check their cameras and call police on any house you suspect has the cat.

LOST CAT OPEN DOOR Scatter the contents of your hoover bag around the outside boundary of your home - they can scent their way home from miles away, using the familiar smell of your home. If putting out clothing make sure that it hasn’t been washed so that it smells of “you”. Going out late at night/ early morning when it is quieter and less noise distraction around will make it easier for you to hear each other’s calls. If you are calling for him make sure you do this as you walk towards your home not away from it so that if he follows the direction of your voice you’re leading him home, not further away. Also ask any neighbours to check their sheds/ outbuildings in case he’s been inquisitive and got trapped inside somewhere. If he is an indoor cat he is likely scared and hiding somewhere very close by - look under/behind any items/objects that he may be seeking shelter from - under bushes, behind bins etc. when searching at night take a torch - the light from its beam will reflect in his eyes and you will be able to spot him even if he doesn’t respond to your calls. Put up posters in all surrounding streets and inform the microchip company that he is missing.Put out water, and some of YOUR dirty clothes (dirty socks are nice and stinky)/blankets (dry in dryer first to enhance smell). Depending on the weather, you might want to put out a plastic tub with straw for shelter. Go out every morning and evening walking (folks seem successful around 10:30 p.m., but don't go alone) with food/treats in bowl rattling it, calling your cats name. Cats are often hiding within a 5-house radius. Do NOT give up. There was a cat a week or so ago, they went out every night for 5 nights, finally on the 5th night, they heard it's meow, it was trapped in a neighbor's shed. Another was hiding in a tree from the neighbor's dogs. Check buildings, bushes, trees, and storm drains around your house. Also in the house/garage, keep all doors/closets OPEN in case it's hiding in the house. If you can, leave door cracked open from which cat would most likely sneak back in during the night. If desperate, sprinkle your urine near the cracked door as stronger scent guidance. Worked for us!
