Message from Owner

Hi everyone, I’m hoping you can help me find this sweet girl. About a month ago, she showed up at my neighbor’s hse and basically decided she lived there. Animal control suggested encouraging her to leave, but this stubborn little lady stayed. Since my neighbor is already caring for three male strays and his cats didn’t get along with her, I took her in. I've been feeding her, caring for her, and giving her all the love and affection she could need while continuously checking local Facebook groups, Nextdoor, and other pages every day to see if anyone was looking for her, but never found a post. She’s been such a precious, loving little fur baby and has really become part of my family so to say she is missed is an understatement. Last Thursday night, my mom let her out for a bit like usual as she loves the indoors and outdoors, (she normally comes right back in), but this time she didn’t return. Her air tag shows that she was last seen near Pawnee Street in Tustin. I’ve gone out looking for her but haven’t had any luck yet. If you see her or have any information, please message me. I would truly love to bring her back . And if she originally belonged to a family and found her way back to them, I would also really appreciate knowing she’s safe — it would mean a lot for my peace of mind. Thank you so much for reading and for keeping an eye out 🤍

Go out tonight with a flashlight and a bag of cat treats, Calmly call the cat's name, with the light, look under porches and decks, look under vehicles, in their wheel wells, hit the hoods, knock on bumpers and fenders, sometimes they crawl into these spaces for warmth and safety, look in and around bushes and shrubbery, up trees, in between buildings, on rooftops, on windowsills, on decks, behind, or under stairs, and use the flashlight to help yo see the eye shine, or reflection of the cat's eyes, Calmly call the cat's name, don't yell the cat's name, then shake the treat bag, if you choose, bring a carrier and a towel, in the event you see your cat, lure it towards you,or in the carrier with the wet food, if you can get close to the cat, talk gently to it,if it lets you touch him, pet him, calmly grasp the scruff of his neck, wrap the towel around it like a burrito, and put him in the carrier from the top, or butt first, with the carrier's entrance facing upward, if that's not feasible, set a humane trap with the food dish inside, and maybe a Blink minicam, so you can observe from your devices what animals go into the trap. You can get these minicams on Amazon,or Walmart, you can rent, or borrow a humane trap from the local animal control services, or shelter, or from a rescue, or from someone who does TNR,or animal rescue.

Lost Cats‼️ Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats never go far. They go into survival mode and hide in silence. Most of them will not respond when they are in survival mode. 3 AM is the best time to find a missing indoor only cat. This is the time they become most active and responsive. Sit and quietly call for your kitty. Try to stay low, standing is intimidating to cats. Place some dirty socks and pillow cases outside. Your scent will attract your kitty. If you have a garage, place the items near the garage door and crack the door enough for her to get in. DO NOT leave food or litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats. Because indoor only cats hide so well they are not as likely to be ed by a predator. Don't give up, it can me n take months to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of her eyes. The best chance of you being reunited with your cat is to do a methodical search of the area. Most indoor only cats will be within 160 feet of your home. Survival mode lasts 5 to 14 days but can last longer. Once their hunger gets to a maximum theyqq snap out of it but this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding. The majority of cats will try to make a break for home on the 5th night. In addition to posted flyers, make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Some people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY VERY important that you look for her as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful. a lot of people are successful trapping their indoor only cats. If you decide to trap, you must watch the trap closely, predators can a cat in a trap.
