We are devastated. On Monday the 20th, our sweet Mr. Grey made a dash through an open door, and for the first time ever, he hasn't come back home. The hse is painfully quiet without him, and seeing his two brothers searching every room for their partner in crime breaks our hearts even more. He is so deeply loved and missed. Please check your yards, sheds, and garages—we just need our family complete again.

My personal experience has been first securing other cats in another closed-off room, dimming/turning off most or all inside/outside lights and — if safe to do so and should be supervised — leaving doors (especially door/window escaped through) open/ajar in the very early morning (basically, need to camp out in room where door is ajar). (Cats have a keen wide-ranging/radius sense of smell; therefore, it is so important to get their familiar “home” scents into the airwaves.) Every time, my little escape artist has come bolting through the door between 3:00 — 5:00 AM. (NOTE: When he’s escaped and door is closed, he panics and takes off again — it is important they have a way in once they come out of hiding and make a mad dash for home.) Hopefully, if not used to being outdoors, MR GREY is very close by just scared to come out until it’s really dark and really quiet. Prayers for a quick safe return !!🙏🏻

Time is of the essence. Cats don’t go far from home. Don’t wait for social media to bring your cat home, you need to be proactive. Leave the door/window the kitty exited from open 24/7. If unable, then crack garage door open 24/7 enough to get in. Hang worn clothes and/or your pillow case in a tree or on top of shrubs to create a scent trail. Knock on neighbors doors with a picture asking them to keep an eye out. See if they can check Ring cameras for any sighting. Post signs with kitty’s picture as many as possible, include surrounding neighborhoods. Go out late at night with a flashlight, shaking a bag of food, calling kitty’s name, looking under shrubs for their shining eyes. Post on Ring, Nextdoor and check shelters. Don’t give up. 💕

Oh no! I’ll keep an eye 👀 out for your pet. In the meantime, check with local shelters in our area and put up posters where your pet was last seen. Don’t forget to file a missing animal report with (571)-4eight9-7zero,zero,four they specialize in finding lost or stolen pets. They found mine in less than two days after I texted them! Give them a try; hopefully, they can help you get yours back. The sooner, the better. By the grace of God, your pet will be found!
