Message from Owner

Our 11 year old princess snuck out in the night by opening a door that didn't latch properly. She is an indoor only cat and is timid with strangers, but super sweet and is extremely attached to her human and animal family. We are worried sick and want her to come .

Leia is still missing. She doesn't have "street smarts" and we desperately need her to come . Our family, including her brother, is heartbroken and we miss her terribly.

Jodi Lozano Thank you. We put out a blanket that smells like my kiddo, her person, as well as some other items. My partner has been going out looking for her in the middle of the night, with treats, when everything is quiet. She is microchipped and I have been checking the shelters. No luck yet but we'll keep trying 😢

❗️Do not put out things that smell like her because that can lead coyotes to your cat!

Put an article if clothing that smells like you outside, put up posters, go out really late at night with a flash light & shaking treat bag. She most likely is really close by scared. Is she microchiped? Check shelter mutiple times a day! El Cajon area doesn't have a reputable shelter, I heard. Plus with fireworks, she might have ran further. Praying for a safe return!!🙏🙏🙏🙏

. I hope that these tips help. Most indoor cats will stay very close to home, but they will go into hiding because they go into survival mode, especially during the day. If it’s at all possible for you to put some recently worn clothing, bedding, a cat tree, if your cat has one near a open door window or garage where the cat will have access to return home, they usually will do it between midnight and 3 AM in the morning. Do not put a litter box out because that will attract other predators such as coyotes, raccoons, skunks, etc. At night time, you can also take a flashlight looking under cars in trees and bushes Taking with you a bag of treats if your cat is treat motivated, calling its name softly staying low to the ground, shaking the bag and using the flashlight to possibly light up your cats eyes. Sometimes they can stay in hiding for days so don’t give up. Hope these tips help and that you’re beautiful. Cat returns home safely and soon🙏🐈‍⬛❤️ don’t give up sometimes they can stay in hiding for over a week until they get really hungry, especially when a lot of commotion is going on during the daytime. And if your kitty hasn’t returned soon befor any rain starts, they will probably bunker down somewhere safe out of the rain also so you might want to keep that in mind too. But hopefully your kitty will return before that.
