MESSAGE FROM OWNER

When I first adopted Rogue I was suffering from severe depression and often had suicidal thoughts. Rogue brought light back into my life and gave me a reason to live. He helped me escape from depression. Rogue is not a smart cat. He is very unaware of his surroundings and it is easy for him to find danger. For this reason, I keep him as an indoor cat. My other cat pepper does not have this issue so I have no problem with letting her go outside. My mother does not understand this and will make Rogue go outside without telling me. One time I even caught her leaving the door wide open and shooing Rogue outside. The past times she did this we were lucky and I found him quickly. I always express how this behavior of hers is not okay but she always just laughs it off. I have no control over my living situation as I am a minor so I just have to put up with it. This time, I was out with friends and when my mom picked me up, she told me that Rogue is outside. The second I got I started looking for him but he has been nowhere to be found. Rogue is like a son to me. Please help me find him. Thank you.

If he is an indoor outdoor cat he could be trapped so nearby and unable to return. Check crawlspaces, storm drains, garages and sheds, anywhere she could be trapped inside. Look up in trees and on roofs. Ask neighbors to check their property thoroughly. Cats are territorial and do not run away. File a lost report with the shelter, post on Nextdoor and file a lost report with the microchip company too if he has one. Hope he is found safe soon

If he is an indoor only cat, or new to an area, he is hiding very nearby where he was last seen. The good news is indoor cats are almost always found you just need to look everywhere! Look quietly with a flashlight even during the day. Put out dirty laundry and other familiar scents outside ASAP. Look under bushes, decks, porches and cars with a flashlight even during the day . Look for him anywhere he could hunker down and hide in or under. Put flyers on neighbors porches asking them to check their property throughly for anywhere he could be hiding in case he slipped out of your yard. Look inside sheds and garages too. Post on Nextdoor and file a lost report with the shelter . Hope you find your kitty soon . Just don’t stop looking everywhere . Our daughters cat slipped out of her house and hid almost two weeks until we saw her on security cameras. Every time she opened the door her cat would flee! We finally set a humane cat trap near her porch and and monitored it from a distance with a security camera and caught her within a few hours. So leave the porch light on. If he continues to hide, set the trap in the early morning hours. You will find him , just don’t stop looking. Hope you find your sweet kitty soon. If he is microchipped, file a lost report with the microchip company too and make sure contact info is current

Shared. Post on Nextdoor, and file a missing report with the shelter asap. Keep checking in person at the shelter, and also check frequently for updated information on all websites. Post fliers in the area, not everyone checks social media. Include veterinary offices and pet stores when posting fliers. Ask your neighbors to check their property: storage units, bat and attics if they have them, any parked vehicles (especially thr trunk, under the hood and the wheel wells!) Anywhere a cat can squeeze into should be thoroughly checked: keep in mind that the space can be very small! If in doubt, check it. Contact local rescue groups in case he's been turned over to one of them. Good luck 💕
