Deborah Borges we tried , we stayed where she was running into for 4 hrs later but no sign of her..we went into the wood called her name and saw the fence …my heart sank thinking if she jumped over the fence it will be impossible to find her….we put her food and snacks out with her blanket…hoping she would came out the same way she went in… Concerned that she ran into the wood in the back of the rest area was on I-40 Crossville county West.. and doesn’t know how to get out 😭

Nor all of these will apply but some will. Definitely get something out with her scent on it, notify local rescues and animal control, and put up large missing cat posters.....Search at night with a flashlight (eyes will glow) up in trees and inside and under things on your property and up to three or four houses away. Cats normally stay pretty close to home. You can put something with the smell of the cat, or the scent of home, out on the porch. Put up missing cat posters, check with your neighbors, post on all local social media groups, and check with animal control every week. Leave your garage door up enough to allow the cat entry. You can also try searching early morning, before dawn, calling his/her name and carrying and open can of tuna or cat food. Hunger sometimes lures them out of hiding. Don't forget to check places like crawl spaces, garages, and sheds.

I am so sorry about your Kitty being lost. Put the Owner's worn clothes outside all around the house. Kitties don't go far, but they do hide a lot. When it is quiet and darker, go out and shake her food bowl and treat bag and hopefully she will hear it and come out. Talk quietly to her like you would if she was inside - yelling can scare them, though this is what we want to do because we want them HOME!! Knock on doors. Someone may have taken your Kitty in so she/he doesn't get hurt. Also ck with your Neighbors and ck their storage areas, sheds, etc. I know of a Kitty who was found in a storage room that had only been open for 5 mins. Put out flyers everywhere - stores, intersections, etc., and put the info on your car windows so that it gets the info out to more people. Use multiple actions to find your Pet...using only one may limit your success in getting your Kitty Home.
