Amy Leigh Sanders Thank you for having him neutered and microchipped ❤ Be sure to contact the chip company and tell them that he's missing. Also make sure your contact info is up-to-date on their website. If you haven't already, put up flyers everywhere as many people aren't on social media. Give flyers to every vet clinic, rescue, and shelter in the area in case he turns up. Having his picture in their hands will help keep him at the forefront of their minds. Ask your neighbors to check their cameras, garages, sheds, and crawlspaces. Ask them if they had any visitors or contractors doing work on their houses around the time he went missing. If so, contact the visitors and businesses and ask them if they had an accidental stowaway. Walk the neighborhood in the wee hours with a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Look up in trees in case he was chased. Call him in a regular voice (not panicked) and gently shake a treat bag if he likes that kind of stuff. If he's injured or scared, he's probably hunkered down and hiding. He may not answer you when you call, but that's just instinctual as a vocal cat gives away their location to predators and an injured cat is prey. Put his beds/blankets and some of your dirty clothes on your porches and around the perimeter of your yard. When he comes home, you might consider building or buying a catio (some people have bought pre-made chicken coops and "attached" them to their houses with kitty access through a window); or, if you have a fenced-in yard, consider putting up cat-fencing or coyote rollers on top of the fence to keep him safely in your yard (both can be DIY). Good luck ❤Read More
