Ask neighbours if you can check their backyards/under decks and if they can check their sheds/garages - most cats are found within a couple-block radius of home; Put posters up - not everyone is on the internet; Go out later at night when it's quieter/there's less traffic - take a flashlight to illuminate eyes and shake a treat bag while softly calling his or her name; Put something with a familiar scent on it outside - (eg) blanket/toy or your sweater/hat - the scent can carry on the wind and help guide them home; Don't forget to check bushes and look up at poles/trees. Call the city and inquire if a deceased cat matching description was picked up in your area.
