Message from Owner

Mavis is our sweet baby who snuck out of the hse while we were trying to bring stuff inside. She’s only 2 years old, and has become our entire world. She was last seen around midnight but got scared and ran into the trees where I saw her last. We are so incredibly worried and just want to bring her . Anything helps, a location, a time you saw her, reposting. We just want her back with her family. You can contact us at. Thank you.

The best time to look for her are on the middle of the night-pre-dawn hours because that's when it is the quietest and she's more likely to come out looking for food. She's also very likely to be very close to him, if not in the same spot where you saw her run into the woods. Don't yell to call her. You need to to set your alarm around 3 or 4 am and go outside with wet food or tune, the stinkiest food you can find, and treats and a flashlight. She the flashlight in the woods, in the bushes, under cars, everywhere and anywhere. Also, make those little chirpy or kissy noises instead of calling her name because she'll be more willing to come out that way. Don't ask me why, I do not know but it actually works. You have to be consistent so it it doesn't work the first night, do it again the second night. She may know who you are and know you are calling her but she's scared and in unknown territory so you still have to gain her trust. When you find her don't just leap out and try to grab her because she will run off again. You have to sit down on the ground, near where she is and open the can of wet food and put it out, not too close to you. Then let her come to the can of food. Do not make any abrupt moves or noises while she's approaching or eating the food. Gently hold your hand out, maybe with a few treats in hand, and let her smell you. Once you feel you can grab her, grab her but you may want to have a towel to wrap her up in because she's going to be scared and fight. Remember, she may know you and love you but everything is scary to her right now. My sweet Sadie bug snuck out this past December 16. I found her the first time she did it 2 years ago and this technique worked perfectly a d I got her home 1 week to the day. I found her by the flashlight aring off her bright gold eyes in the woods. She is solid black. I still haven't found her this last time. I've done everything but she wasn't in her spot tbis last time so I figured she ran further up in the woods because she knew the area more now since she had already gotten out once before. There's been a sighting and I truly believe it's her but now I have no idea how to get her because she's on the back end of my apartment complex in the woods that backs up to Meadowbrook and the woods are too deep to hike through, so I'm just hoping she decides to come back this way and I can get her. Good luck!!! She's a beautiful baby. I'm sure she is very close by. Sadie bug was one building over the first time she snuck out. One building. They don't go far if they are indoor only kitties.

Sit outside when quiet early AM and PM and call her in a quiet voice. Just be still as you look. 🙏If you possibly can - leave your door slightly cracked open while you are near.
