Are there any groomers willing to help this pup. The owners should not get him back unless he’s been missing for a few months. He’s too tangled to be a recent loss. Someone would give him a loving home once cleaned up and posted on FB. Interview them first. This poor pup - if I didn’t already have a couple of animals I would step up.

The condition of this dog is unacceptable. If he's been lost a very long time I understand, if not, then don't give this dog back the owner.

Sandy Kramaley Thank you. I did send photos to a few shelters in the area. He is going to vet this morning because he has a sore on his leg from neglect most likely. After that he will be going to shelter.

Kristen Ward Dehart super kind - I can’t stress enough to take to shelter as quickly as possible. Seems terrible as he is so comfy now but owners may have already visited and continue to- must be frantic. At least get photos to the shelters. May have been on the run for awhile but that’s no street dog. Shelter is not horrible option - they will do a ‘stray hold’ for a number of days and then you can apply for adoption.
