I got him! He was hiding nearby like I thought. Around 10:30 he was finally lured close by the sound of his wet food opening.

Julie Thomas Never put out a litter box. It will draw predators

Julie Thomas You mean you’ve seen him ? And you’re right, after 2 weeks he barely knows you. What I would do is borrow a trap from someone. If you are on Nextdoor, ask there. Maybe ask from where you got him. They are fairly easy to set up. They don’t cost a lot. Maybe $30. But there is always someone who can loan you one. I would act quickly. It’s so dangerous outside, plus he doesn’t really feel at home yet. None of my cats try to get out anymore but getting packages was the worst. I would get treats and lure them to the bathroom or laundry room before getting the package. Eventually if you always keep him inside, which you should, he will stop trying to get out. I sure hope you find him quickly. You’ve given him a second chance in life. I don’t want him to lose it. Good luck And definitely check on the trap. Because for another thing, if you try and pick him up outside he may be scared and scratch or bite. Maybe take the carrier with you when you look. And remember treats !

Thank you! He's close, I just haven't gotten close enough to grab.

Jacque Line I'm pretty sure he's right in the bushes/brush outside, between my and my neighbors backyards. He's around but staying within 1 house, so I'm trying to entice him rather than direct chase. I just realized he's circling so I don't want to up the excitement. I'll give him some time to feel safe enough to come to my calls. He's a very hungry guy all the time, I think late afternoon or evening hearing a Sheba pack snap he'll be persuaded to volunteer to come to me. If not, I'll adjust what I'm doing. I've got his litter box, a dirty T-shirt, food water and shelter in the yard as well. I think he's waiting for a more quiet time. I just wanted to post because I haven't yet caught him. If what I'm doing drives, or outside influences like neighborhood noise drive him further away or he doesn't decide to keep moving inward I'll get a bit more proactive.

Hope you get out and look for him. Cats are usually within 5 houses. Although he is probably scared and confused, try putting his bedding and something of yours worn outside. Also post on nextdoor and ring if you can.
