9. Put out some highly aromatic canned food and also clothing or items with your scent. 10. Check at dusk, dawn and evening; keep calling your cat's name and talk to your cat saying things that you would normally say out loud at home. Searching on foot daily is very important as well. 11. Search and search again.. notify and talk to neighbors, starting out at a one block radius and working out further each time. 12. Let your local police department know. 13. Keep in mind that indoor only cats typically do not stray very far from home. 14. Let your mail carrier know specifically as they walk the area several days a week. Good luck and please keep us posted! Please do the following things as soon as possible: In the event that your cat goes missing, here are very important tips to do right away to increase the chances that your cat will be home soon and safe.* 1. Please read the tips on these websites: https:// missionreunite.org and www.catsinthebag.org 2. Immediately start to search: do not wait 12 hours, 24 hours or even a week. Time is of the essence! 3. Check out window wells, in sheds & garages, under decks & grills, in bushes; anywhere a cat could hide. 4. Put up flyers immediately around your neighborhood. Give the flyers to local vets, emergency vets, animal impounds in your area and to your mail carrier. 4. Please post on Craigslist lost and found section under community. 5. Also, I highly recommend a VERY CLOSELY MONITORED live trap would be a great tool - put a towel over the top, stinky sardines or tuna inside and if you have a security cam, you can have it alert you to any activity. Don’t expect to get him/her in one night, but put it out every night and hopefully he/she goes in when hungry enough. If it’s cold or winter, DO NOT put a blanket in the trap, their body heat makes the blanket wet and they freeze to death. And beware of texting scams

She should have been in a carrier. Of course she would have been frightened and jumped!!! In this heat she may not survive. Go look in garages, sheds, under decks, in window wells, behind buildings, in shrubbery, under cars and trucks and dumpsters. Put water outside for her and some treats. Walk around calling her name softly. Do not yell or chase.
