Been a month now since my pick of the litter is gone. 17 years with her to fail her at the end. Never chipped her, took her collar off since she "never" gets out and she would scratch at it. She was a happy accident a result of not spaying her mom, a stray out of Pinedale. We did everything wrong as pet owners... She has no teeth, because when I could finally afford to take her to the vet they were all bad. Her ears are not pointy, like a chihuahua, and she's longer as she's a dachshund mix. She was my dog and all I have is the video of her walking away for the last time.. I've done all the signs in a 2 mile radius, paid for pawboost, paw guide, talked to neighbors, the entire checklist from Fresno Humane and Fresno Animal Center and I would check every 3 days. The shelter visits are the most gut wrenching thing I've done in years. I want to rescue them all. I feel I want to save one to atone for losing her. One day I will, but we feel we want our last dog to be spoiled as an only dog in her golden years. I can only hope she is being taken care of by someone who doesn't want to give her back, or is outside of the range of my signs or social media. My fear is she got hit and thrown in the trash... she couldn't have gone far at her age. We are in a high traffic area. I never had the heart to check 311. Anyway, moral of our story is chip and airtag your pets. Don't get complacent. I left the door open 10 seconds and she slipped out to potty. After 4 hours of sitting on the front porch, she left us and I pray daily again, someone is taking care of her. Not having closure is killing us. The reality of being over 600$ into her search definitely hurts especially this hot time of year, PG&E hit us hard. Tires going bald and have to smog the car and get tags this month. All those life things. But I will say this, if you have my dog, and can prove it, you will get 1000$ no questions asked. To be exchanged in a safe location like Clovis or Fresno PD safe exchange areas. This is 2026, so a video with a timestamp would be required. We have had too many false alarms and nights spent combing an area where "we saw a dog that looked just like her, but she ran away." We are also on point for scams. So forgive us for being skeptical at first. We have been having people calling my wife cute, saying nice jammies, do you have a boyfriend, etc. They are disgusting and makes me hate humanity. Really, going to hit on someone who is in pain? She's also disabled, so must be killing her being limited in the search. This post feels like a last hope for MJ. I hope I find out one day what happened, I hope she is with Pepper and Lucky who passed already. I hope one day I can say sorry to my dog and hold her once more...

Casey Custer OK have you tried doing this? - Creating a dog scent station from a rescue who helps reunite pets. Take an unwashed article of THE OWNERS clothing.( Socks , Sheet, Underware & Hang it in a tree ,on a fence , a pole or edge of roof & put an article of unwashed clothes on ground below. The wind will carry the scent. If there is another dog in the home take that dog's fresh poop and rub it on a rag & hang it high . Open your gates. Your garage door , turn on all your lights. Put a rug or towel on porch with a bowl of water. Do not put the dog's bed or the dog's toys outside. The only scent we want is from the owners. Please do this ASAP. Rain or Shine.A dog can find its way back from miles by following a scent. They don't operate like humans on sight or sound. Also saturate the area with bright flyers.& file a lost report with your local shelters and check those in person in case your dog is there.

And if you go keep an eye out in the area, the Lord sometimes works in mysterious ways.

Perhaps you might check out the garage sale address, there might be a connection, since they tore down your sign, just a suggestion.

Bernardo Rabena wish you would have read a few comments before jumping on me. But I deserve it. I had both hands full and put stuff on the kitchen counter then ran back and shut the door. She slipped out. I was beat and went right to sleep. I thought she was in her room she thought she was in mine. 16 years of spoiling her to just fail her at the end. That's why. No, it isn't a good reason.
