Flyers are extremely important. It's good to put them in a zip gallon bag that is upside down to help protect from the elements. It was only the other day that a dog was reunited by a flyer alone since the person that found the dog did not have social media and just saw the flyer and was then reunited. If your cat has a microchip It is good to make sure that your contact information is up to date so you can be contacted. If your cat is found. Cats tend to stay close to home before they wander so time is of the essence. Make sure your cat is neat in your garage. Hiding in the closet in a dresser, drawer or behind furniture which often happens. When I leave my house I back my body out of the house and make sure nobody can escape and when I go in my garage I do not open the garage door until the house door is secured and when I return home I do not open the house door until I know the garage is completely down which works wonderfully. It's also good to check on your block in shrubbery and under ducks and porches, at dawn and dusk with a flashlight to help catch a glimpse of your cat's eyes. I've heard of a few cats returning home the past few years when the owner left their garage door open about 5 in with a worn piece of clothing on the inside of the garage near the opening to help attract the cat if it comes close back to home but not too wide. So you do not attract unwanted animals. If you adopted from a rescue, they usually like to know ASAP that a former animal is missing. Make sure you check daily your local animal control in person and also check with local rescues in shelters to make sure daily that your cat is not there. Your cat is very handsome and hope he's safely comes back home....

If he is microchipped let the company know he is missing. Some will send out flyers to local vets and shelters. Its a great time to make sure your contact info is up to date and that the microchip is registered directly to you. Be sure to contact Aurora Animal Care and Control and your county Animal Control in case finder contacts them. Have neighbors check garages, sheds and window wells. You can also have neighbors check their cameras to see if you can find where he is hiding.
