Leave some unwashed clothing outside for him to smell home. (A litter box may attract coyotes.)
Also, leave a door or window cracked open for him to come home through during the night when it’s quiet out - usually around 3am. It may take a few days if he’s hiding - most likely nearby - as he may have been chased. Check shrubs, under cars, in trees, on rooftops. Use a flashlight to see eyes at night. If under something - talk softly and use a fishing lure or string type of cat toy to lure him out - stinky cat food/tuna works, too.
Post signs on neon poster board with his photo as soon as you can.
