Message from Owner

If anyone has seen Ridley, please let us know. He is a nervous cat, so will likely run away if you try to catch him. He may have snuck into your shed / garage / greenhouse to hide - please check and keep an eye out for him. We miss him very much.

Could this be your boy? X

He could have found somewhere cooler than your house, as the weather is unusual. He will lie low and sleep in a cool place until dark, then be active and respond to sound. Notify the identichip company, check your details are up to date. Notify immediate Vets in your area. Your familiar voice calling when it is dark and silent outside, it may take him a little time to respond if he has wandered a way, but sound travels further in the quiet of the night.

Thank you for all the advice and tips. We've done a lot already but there are still some things you've suggested that we will try. Please let us know if you see anything - we really want our Ridley home

Give all details of Ridley to the local postal sorting office and also to your own postman/postwoman. Posties are great as they go everywhere and see all. Good luck 🐈‍⬛

Leave an unwashed item of your clothing, which will have your scent on it.l, or perhaps the contents of your hoover for a smell of home. Call out for your cat in the garden early in the morning or late at night, when everywhere is likely to be quieter.

I'm sorry your cat is missing. I hope they return soon. Here are a few tips. You may know some of them. Check, check & check again they aren't hiding in the house somewhere. We regularly loose our house/enclosed garden cat. We turn the house upside down then she'll just stroll through wondering what all the excitement is about! If they have got out... Knock on neighbours doors, in all directions. Ask them to open sheds, garages, greenhouses etc. Get them to check ponds & water butt's. If you have some used kitty litter put that outside, the familiar scent will help guide them home. Same with some unwashed clothing of your family & vaccum contents. Go out calling them at night when it's quieter. Shake their favourite, treat or noisy toy. Take a torch, look under hedges & vehicles. The torch light will reflect their eyes. There is a Japanese tradition to tell every cat you see that yours is missing, tell them their name & ask them to tell him/her to go home. I know some who have done just that & their cat reappeared. ❤️
