Our cat Lily got out and has been missing since around 5 PM yesterday (Sunday, September 6) near Hawthorne Lane. Lily is mostly white with distinct gray markings on the top of her head and yellow/green eyes. She is an indoor cat and is extremely calm and quiet. She does not meow, so she may be hiding somewhere without making any noise. If you live nearby, we would really appreciate it if you could check under decks/porches, in garages or sheds, and around bushes or other hiding places. Please don’t chase her if you see her. If possible, take a picture or keep an eye on where she goes and contact us immediately. Lily is microchipped. Call or text: Please share, especially if you live nearby. We miss her very much and want her to return safely. Thank you so much for helping us get Lily home.

Call her name in quiet hours and shake treats bag or open a can of food. Put something with your scent on it out on the porch and check often (some people have mentioned using a baby cam). Take a flashlight and look in bushes, under decks and under low lying tree branches. Check garages and talk to neighbors. If adopted from an organization, please consider alerting them and chip company. Hoping she is home soon!

When my cat escaped, I put a live trap out by the door in the garage and left the garage door open about 6-8" with cat food in it. The trap didn't go out till day 7, & that is the night she returned around 2am, in the trap. I don't believe they go far from home because they are scared and at night time (middle of the night) when quiet is when they feel safer. If you use a trap, monitor frequently & you could put a blanket covering the back part of the trap with your scent & maybe contact CAHS about borrowing a cat safe trap. Go out with a flashlight late at night and you might catch the light reflection in your cats eyes. Prayers for a quick return.

Barbara’s suggestions are excellent!! if kitty‘s not used to being outdoors, everything should be considered a hiding spot. but the fastest way to let neighbors know is knocking on doors, leaving flyers or large notes. ask them to open their garages because not everyone is on FB and won’t see your post

***POST NEXTDOOR, RING NEIGHBORHOOD, PET FBI, PETCO LOVE LOST, PAWBOOST Check ✔️ Humane Society, Animal Shelters In-Person DAILY. Some Keep Pets 5 Days then put up for Adoption. Boots on the ground - Walk ur neighborhood 2X DAILY, DAY & NIGHT, CHECK BUSHES 1st!!! Check window wells, under decks, sheds, garages, behind AC units, dumpsters, under staircases, under BBQ covers, behind firewood. Indoor Cats don't go far, usually close by. Others hide during the day and roam @ night when it's quiet. Shake bag of cat food or treats, walking, calling by name, saying are u hungry, Bring a flashlight, search day & night. Knock on neighbor's doors. Post Flyer's on neighbor's doors
