💥💥WARNING💥💥 SCAMMERS 💥💥will claim they found your cat!. SCAMMERS will text you saying they’re affiliated with Pawboost or an ANIMAL SHELTER and that they HAVE YOUR CAT and that YOU need to PROVE who you are by giving other phone numbers, your email, verifying google codes etc or to send money to get your cat from the shelter. These are all SCAMMERS! THEY WON'T Send you a PHOTO of your cat (they'll make up any excuse) OR THEY'LL SEND a PHOTO of a similar cat - or a blurry video - but it’s not your cat! Look closely. Please know that If your actual neighbor sees or has your cat they will give you information freely (and will post a PHOTO on your listing and not make you ‘send a code or personal information or money. 💥There’s a NEW SCAM on Facebook the scammer will say something like ‘my husband found your cat please message me your phone number “ meaning they want you to message them from your Facebook messenger your phone number! 💥The Facebook SCAMMER will tell you to look up a lost cat search team they used on Instagram or another platform saying their cat was found within hours -it’s a total SCAM. LOOK AT THEIR FACEBOOK PROFILE - you may see alot of (PAID) followers but they are not following anyone, The profile will have a few photos only, usually just selfies and the profile was created not long ago. You will see no posts / conversations with friends , I report the account to Facebook Scammers are heartless. Some SCAM texts examples I’ve received -> https://docs.google.com/document/d/12nDqc5LC4ViL67PL7u6aBPjHX03MzVwpND9Q3-aJovw/edit?usp=sharing

Put a piece of your clothing outside. Post and keep an eye open on all your local animal groups and the pound. I hope you get your baby back soon.

If you have any used kitty litter, sprinkle it around the neighborhood to help them find their way home. If possible, leave a door or window open at all time so they can get back into the house or garage. Leave food and water out at all times as they may be hiding nearby, but too scared to come out. Good luck.

General Information: Cats (if they are indoor cats) are usually close to home. Be sure to check all possible hiding places in your home. Hang clothes with your scent on it high up outside so that the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat home. Scent only - no food. Check with your neighbors to see if the cat is in their yard or accidentally stuck in their garage OR if they have a Ring camera (if applicable) to see if he/she was spotted on camera. Post fliers with your contact information on it around the area he/she is missing so if he/she is spotted the person can tell you his/her location (for those not on Social Media). Keep an access point open for him/her to slip back in your home. Look in bushes or hiding spots around your home as if this cat is unfamiliar with being outdoors he/she is most probably scared of all the new sounds and smells and he/she will make himself/herself safe by finding a hiding spot. Check trees as the cat could use the tree as a refuge. Sometimes the best time to find your cat is when the noise level is low - after hours - or early morning hours. Take a flashlight and look for the shining eyes. Finally there are scammers out there that claim to have your cat and you can get it back for a price - beware of them. Good luck.
