Put out a personal piece of clothing or blanket with your scent on it so he can smell it or even a can of tuna to entice him back bring in at night put out his used litter box outside they can smell it for a long distance bring in at night go searching once it starts getting dark use a flashlight cats eyes glare check with neighbors yards and garages 💙💙💙

Marsha Theis so sorry you’re going through this! I’m actually friends with your son Paul and saw this through the feed. if you haven’t yet, you’ll want to also post this in the Lost and Found Pets of Johnson County page. They’re very active and helpful. I also live by Glenwood and 69th and will keep an eye out even though Catnip likely wouldn’t travel this far We lost our indoor cat (and got him back ) back in 2024 and and followed all the tips in this article (and more) - #1 in this was true for us. He is an indoor and hunkered down - it was our next door neighbor who finally found him, he’d gotten into an exterior crawl space under their house and stayed there for weeks and eventually broke into their bat to ask for help. We talked to all our neighbors, hung posters, reported to shelters, posted on pawboost and petco love lost. Left garage door ajar and food, etc. https://www.pawboost.com/blog/7-effective-search-tips-for-finding-your-lost-cat/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=search&utm_content=link&utm_campaign=google_performance_max&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADlG0HkgLqsgeIKpFoErBoArEC-uy&gclid=CjwKCAjw1NK4BhAwEiwAVUHPUFWK7M1U63PsJJqLk08pusVGgoZJ7d8UVBegKclQxsOxEza9alfzWRoC_XgQAvD_BwE
