My dog went missing this past weekend (in west Chester too)and was found 24 hours later. The emotions and helplessness is unbearable.
Here is what I did/learned:
1. Notify all neighbors immediately
2. Post on social media, file reports with local police and shelters. Post on any local township or boro social media too.
3. Utilize liquid smoke around your home if possible- dogs pick up the scent quickly
4. Put your clothes outside, they know your scent
5. Create flyers, never discount the effectiveness of flyers….every mailbox, stop sign, park, etc
6. Depending on the neighborhood, I hired a drone company out of Maryland to do thermal imaging. They were excellent and the technology was amazing.
My dog, who is a tripod, was found about a quarter mile away and it was one of our neighbors who was alerted and stopped when she saw him- and this is someone who we don’t really know, but our whole neighborhood was alerted.
My heart goes out to you, and wishing a speedy recovery of Woodson!Read More
