I would start with talking to your neighbors. Since he was allowed to roam the neighborhood, it's possible that someone thought he was a stray and took him in. People often think cats who are on the street are not owned by anyone and then they take matters into their own hands by keeping the cat or finding it a new home. Most of these people will not post a found cat ad because they think it didn't have a home. So, start in your neighborhood and hopefully someone will say they have your cat. But, if they decided that they love your cat since he hasn't been home in a week, that may not happen. Its possible when he was gone for a couple days in the past, that he had made friends with someone on your street. This is one of the sad realities of cats who are allowed to roam. Hopefully, whoever has him will do the right thing. Keep checking the shelter in person and call the chip company to alert them he is lost. Best of luck.

Have you borrowed a trap from your Vet? Do so and set it close to where he got out. Put food in the trap along with a worn Tshirt of yours for scent. Cover the trap with a towel or cat’s blanket.

This is him with my other cat, Chamomile (his mom). They occasionally adventure together but she sticks much closer to home.
