Here are some suggestions that may help for lost and found pets.
If you find a pet always have it checked for a microchip.
Put up flyers with your pets picture. Take them to Shelters, Vets, PetSmart, PETCO etc. too.
Go door to door in the neighborhood, somone may know something. Keep going back every day to all nearby shelters to look for them. Don't just call. There are so many animals there, it's hard for them to know which one could be yours by just talking to you on the phone. Don't just rely on pictures you see posted on the internet either. Your pet could look so different after being lost, especially if it has been a long time. It may even be hard for you to recognize them at first, depending on the circumstances that they have been in while lost.
Contact animal control. Don't give up. Post and keep reposting on a lot of different sites. The more you get the word out the better the chance of finding your pet.
Time is of the essence!!
Pets travel fast, especially dogs.They could be anywhere. Hope your pet is home soon, or that you can locate the owners of the pet you found.
