Thank you for keeping the dog safe. Take the dog to any vet or shelter to see if the dog is microchipped. Note: the shelter has a larger database than any vet, whether their registered or not they can usually find the owner. If you can't keep the dog safe indoors, please take the dog to VEG ER (open 24hrs.) in Otay Ranch or Mission Valley. They will check for a microchip and keep the dog safe until the owner or shelter picks the dog up. Please make sure to thoroughly vet the person claiming to be the owner. By asking for proof of ownership from anyone claiming to be the pet's owner. This can include photos of the owner or family with the pet, adoption papers, vet or grooming records or a matching microchip, and possible scar or marking that only the owner would know. You could take him to any vet or Petco to scan for microchip to locate owners. There is no charge. Please give him water and food.if possible, keep him inside from the heat, Thank you

Thank you so much for helping this dog especially when it’s gonna be so hot out again today. You can take it to any vet clinic even an emergency one or PetSmart and have it scanned free for a microchip. Anybody claiming the dog please have them show proof of ownership through either a dog license, family photos, a vet, Bill, etc. That’s to keep the dog safe. You can also let the Humane Society know that you are in possession of the dog without having to turn it in since they are so full right now because the owners may look for it there. Again, thank you so much and I hope it’s reunited soon.🙏🐕❤️
