🐾If you haven't already (these are some suggestions, as you may have already done some of these and some suggestions may not pertain to your situation). Can you take to see if the dog has a chip. Any vet, emergency vet, or even some petco or petsmart (if there is a pet hospital there) and fire department might be able to scan (some have scanners). Have them to do a full body scan, as sometimes the chip may have moved. Please walk the neighborhood and see if he belongs to any of your neighbors. Remember not everyone is on social media. Let the postman also know, as he normally knows his folks on his route and may recognize the pup. Please also contact the shelters near you, that is one of the first places a family will go. WHAT TO DO The first place owners go, desperate to find their missing pets, is to the shelters to see if they have been picked up or turned in. Call the local shelters asap to let them know where the pet is and provide your contact information. The shelters will ask you if you want to hold the pet until the owners are found or if you want them to pick it up. You can safely notify the shelter and still hold on to the pet until owners come looking for it, if you want to. Owners may still be out of town! Not uncommon for neighbors & some pet sitters to loose dogs If you live at an Apt complex ask the office mgr to send an email to all tenants, it could be someone that lives there Please ask for proof of ownership. THANKS so much for helping!!🐾

FOUND OR LOST A PET? Most below are specific to Pinellas County: If someone contacts you to claim the pet, please ask them to send you a photo & for some detail about the pet that you didn’t provide. 1) Take pet to any vet & they will scan for a microchip for free. 2) Knock on neighbors’ doors near where the pet is found to ask if it’s their pet or if they know whose it is. 3) Post “FOUND PET” & search “Lost Pets” posts on all sites below: •http://petfbi.org •http://www.helpinglostpets.com •http://www.humanesocietyofpinellas.org/lost-and-found-pets •http://www.pcsoweb.com/cares/ •http://www.pinellascounty.org/animalservices/lost-found.htm •https://humanesocietytampa.org/service/lost-found-pets •https://spcatampabay.org/lost-found-animals/ •https://www.critteralert.com/ •https://www.pawboost.com •https://nextdoor.com/g/95mzg8q9t/ •https://www.tabbytracker.com/ •https://www.facebook.com/LostCatsFlorida •https://www.parrotalert.com/lost-and-found.php •https://www.lostdogsflorida.org/ •http://www.lostmydoggie.com •https://www.fidofinder.com/ •https://findingrover.com/ •https://www.facebook.com/LostDogsFlorida •https://www.facebook.com/LostPetsTampaBayFL/ •https://www.facebook.com/PinellasCountyAnimalServices •https://www.facebook.com/PinellasLostPets •https://www.facebook.com/groups/tbalostnfoundpets/ •https://nextdoor.com/ -Find your neighborhood & those nearby & post under “Pet Directory”, “Lost & Found” & “General”. •https://www.craigslist.org/ -Select County, then Community, then post under “Pets”, “Lost & Found”, “All Community” & “General”. •There’s a “Lost Pet” section in “Incidents” in the Ring app. •Tampa Bay Times & Tampa Tribune will list a lost or found pet for free for several days. (You have to call.) Note-there’s a few days delay before it's published. 4) Go to (or call) all local shelters & vets -leave photos, a description & your contact info.”l 5) Hang (far & wide), put in mailboxes & hand out bright, large fliers with the word FOUND, your pet’s picture, a brief description & a phone number that people can call, text &/or leave a message. If possible, use a sheet protector or laminate in case of rain. Staple and/or duct tape to poles, trees, stores that allow it. (It's recommended that you leave a detail about the pet out of the description, so you can use it to ensure anyone claiming to be the owner is legitimate.) •Flyer tips: https://petfbi.org/lost-and-found-pet-flyers/ •Flyer template: https://search.petfbi.org/flyer.html •Flyer template: https://www.preventivevet.com/downloads/lp/lost-pet-poster-template LINKS TO POST & RECEIVE LOST & FOUND PET ALERTS NEAR YOU: ➢ http://www.helpinglostpets.com/ALERTS ➢ facebook.com/HelpingLostPets ➢ twitter.com/HelpingLostPets ➢ instagram.com/HelpingLostPets SHELTERS TO VISIT &/OR CALL IN PINELLAS COUNTY:0 •Pinellas County Animal Services: 727-582-2600 - http://www.pinellascounty.org/animalservices •SPCA Largo: 727-586-3591 - http://www.spcatampabay.org/ •Humane Society of Pinellas: 727-797-7722 - www.humanesocietyofpinellas.org •Pet Pal Animal Shelter: 727-328-7738 - https://petpalanimalshelter.com/ •Suncoast Animal League: 727-786-1330 - www.suncoastanimalleague.net •Friends of Strays: 727-522- 6566 - https://www.friendsofstrays.org/ •Safe Paws Rescue: 727-470-3042 - https://safepawsrescue.com MORE INFO/TIPS: •https://petfbi.org/i-found-a-pet/found-pet-advice/ •https://www.pawboost.com/blog/what-to-do-if-you-find-a-stray-pet-a-step-by-step-guide-for-creating-a-happy-reunion/ •https://www.thesprucepets.com/what-to-do-if-you-found-a-lost-cat-4692898 •https://www.thesprucepets.com/what-to-do-if-you-found-a-lost-dog-4707839 •https://www.thesprucepets.com/found-pet-bird-4768790 AVOID LOST & FOUND PET SCAMS: https://www.pawboost.com/blog/2017-4-21-how-to-recognize-and-avoid-the-lost-pet-scam/?utm_swu=4248&utm_content=link&utm_medium=email&utm_source=email&utm_campaign=BewareScammersAgnosticFound#found ◦
