Also, if you see her while out driving - do not chase. Open your car door and let her jump in on her own. Bring some smelly treats with you: hot dog pieces and/or pieces of rotisserie chicken. Sit quietly NOT facing her and gently toss the food near her and keeping tossing closer to you - try not to make eye contact and let her approach. Have a leash/slip lead ready to place over her while she’s eating.

Be careful of scammers who may already be commenting. Post on LA City Lost and Found Pets and NextDoor as well. Tips for Lost Dogs Leave some articles of your unwashed clothing (socks, shoes, t-shirt, pillowcases, etc.) and his/her bed outside for him/her to smell home. Change the clothing out daily - hang some items so that a breeze will carry the scent. Leave a gate open for him/her. If microchipped, notify the chip company that he/she is missing; update/confirm your contact info. Post on NextDoor, Ring and local Lost & Found Pets groups for your area. Ask neighbors to check their cameras. Please contact either of these legit pet rescue/recovery specialists: -Mike Noon of CatchingPaws -Babs Fry of A Way Home For Dogs Both will give you instructions on how to get him/her home. Post signs - a minimum of 50 in at least a 2-mile radius. Put “Do Not Chase” on them and ask for sightings, but beware of scammers claiming to have your dog. Visit surrounding shelters in person daily - leave flyers there. Leave flyers at surrounding vet offices/ER vets where someone may take him/her for a chip scan. Best wishes that he/she is home soon.
