I post this k owing you've probably done just about everything Spread the word: Post on Nextdoor, Facebook local groups, and Lost & Found Cats, online and physical, organizations of your county/city, publications and animal control, police and local shelters immediately. All the immediately work will make the difference. Create flyers with a clear photo and your phone number immediately with reward. Place in all convenience stores and anywhere else thst allows the posting. Include a reward on the poster reward. People who may have found your cat may be motivated to return it in light of getting cash. Their litter box (most effective scent item)..again at night bring it in and put in a porch.or place where the scentcan get through a window. Put out their bed or blanket where it not get wet but outside. Of course a bowl of their food. I can't stress enough the effectiveness of flyers with reward and photo in all local places that allow community posts. Also Nextdoor Neighborhood app..invaluable. IF YOUR CAT IS MISSING 🐾 — READ THIS AS SOON AS YOU CAN! Cats usually hide close to home and stay silent when scared. 1) Scent + food near home * Put your worn clothing outside * Leave strong-smelling food (tuna, sardines, chicken) * Light scent trail (like chicken broth) toward your door * Leave a door/window open at night with food nearby 2) Search at night (2–5 AM is key) * Go out when it’s quiet and dark * Shake treats, call softly * Check bushes, sheds, porches, garages with a flashlight (look for eye shine) 3) Posters + alerts ASAP * Put flyers everywhere (neighbors, poles, stores, mail/UPS drivers) * Call shelters, animal control, vets—but also visit shelters in person 4) Know how cats behave * They often stay within 1–4 blocks * They hide silently for days or longer * Don’t assume they’re gone just because you don’t hear them 5) Extra help * Ask neighbors to check sheds/garages * Use humane traps with smelly food if needed * Check feral cat groups/FB pages * If microchipped, update contact info * Be aware of outdoor risks (like coyotes) Most cats are found close by—especially between 2–5 AM. I hope you find your kitty, real soon!

Lost cat Post to your neighborhood Nextdoor.com website. Notify animal control and police. Check neighborhood surveillance cameras Put a surveillance or trail camera of your own up in case cat comes near your house when you’re not home or asleep. For NY residents or those in CT close to NY border:Post on Lost Pets of the Hudson Valley Facebook Also: one can try a drone service near your area. If pet is stolen: Report to police. Ask neighbors to check their surveillance cameras. Give picture of dog with your contact info to postal, ups etc drivers and ask them to keep an eye out.
