Description

Our sweet Lona is a miniature pitbull. Her mom is a pure bluenose it and her dad is a little teeny tiny brown Chihuahua. She is the best dog and we miss her so much. She is short haired, friendly, loves chicken. Paws have white on them and she does and then wait straight between her eyes, for Gray’s nose but wait for around it and all her chin all the way down her belly is white. The rest of her is gray/silver.

Message from Owner

The photo is the most recent possible. It was taken yesterday at coastal Farm and Ranch on Lancaster Dr., Southeast by the employee that found her. Unfortunately , she was released to the wrong person, a homeless man that convinced the employees that he was the owner, but he is not. My husband and I as well as our three boys are completely heartbroken. We have a second dog, he is Mona‘s son that was born almost 3 years ago. He has been crying and howling since she’s been gone and refuses to eat. We are extremely worried about her conditions, what she is and exposed to, and we just want our baby ! This is especially traumatizing because just last year in September, was stolen out of our yard by a homeless person. She was gone for 2 1/2 months and out of nowhere we got a call from the Humane society that she was found alone chained up down by the YMCA, clinging to life. She was skin and bones, extremely malnourished, sick, and they didn’t know if she would make it. We nursed her back to health and she was her old self again. Any assistance in locating her would be much appreciated. You’re not follow the police report yet and I gave you my word that I will not do that as long as Mona is returned to us. Our is within walking distance to where she was taken. It will be a no questions asked return.

Please post on Nextdoor to reach the many local people who don’t use Facebook. The eyes and ears of Nextdoor readers helped friends and us locate our missing pets when no other site did. Report your missing dog to the nonemergency police number so they will be able to reach you if she is reported or turned in to them. Also, contact nearby shelters and vets to see if she’s been reported sighted or turned in. Best of luck.

I can’t believe they handed the dog over without pictures, checking for a chip, etc. I understand mistakes happen, but I would be so beside myself. Go to the homeless camps in that area with a group of people, for safety reasons. When you find your dog, call the police so they can get your dog back or offer to pay for the dog. I know where a lot of homeless camps are because I help the homeless with their pets so feel free to message me.

Please, check the homeless camps. Some of the homeless people occasionally like to adopt lost dogs as their own. Alternatively, the homeless will attempt to make friends with a lost dog that escaped from their home in order to retain the animal. I hope you find your pet soon. Many prayers.🙏🐕
