Thank you for your concern & kindness! 🧡 Here are some tips if you’ve found a cat you suspect as a pet rather than feral: If you are able carefully, calmly coax & contain it (crate, small room) Please be sure to report it to animal control. The animal control shelter is the first place the owners will look. If animal control doesn’t answer, leave a message. You may also file a report on the shelter’s website with a description and/or picture. If unable to hold for safe keeping & unable make contact with animal control, call the police department's non-emergency phone number to have the cat picked up & taken to the shelter. Have it scanned for a microchip (animal control & vets will do this for free). Put up FOUND signs in your area as well in Veterinary offices. Share in your local neighborhood and/or community group(s) as well as Ring & Nextdoor apps. Make sure to get proof from those claiming the cat is theirs before relinquishing custody. Hope this helps!
