Posting in case anyone is missing this handsome boy who was wandering along the Cape Fear River Trail today near the PWC water treatment facility. He appears to be young, energetic, friendly and non-aggressive, and definitely emaciated and underweight. Seems to have been on the move for several days and having some difficulty passing waste, but in the best spirit. He's a little fearful around males, but takes very well to females. Follows basic commands and loves cuddles. If we were able to keep him, we absolutely would. I plan to take him to check for a microchip tomorrow (as it was too late today) and also to contact animal rescues/shelters locally and across the state, if needed. We spent hours waiting for Cumberland county animal services to come help us to no avail, so we ended up taking him home for the night! Posting this here in the rare case he might be missing from someone or you know of rescues that might take him in. I'd really love to see him go somewhere that could treat him well and love on him as he deserves. I think hed make an awesome dog for someone or a family, and would like to avoid shelters if at all possible. Thank you for any tips or assistance!💕
