Put up flyers ASAP with photos of your grandfather’s dog, and your contact info. Contact nearby shelters and vets to see if anyone has brought him in for a chip check, or simply turned him in. Post him on Nextdoor to reach the many local people who don’t use Facebook. People on Nextdoor helped friends and us locate our missing pets when no other site did. Go out early or late with a flashlight and call his name softly. Look in bushes, culverts, etc. — anywhere he might be hiding to get away from a larger dog or coyote. If you think he’s been stolen, check daily sites where animals are sold or rehomed for a fee — Craig’s List, Rescue Me, Pet Finder, Marketplace, etc. Best of luck!
