Is your kitty microchipped? If so, report them missing to your local county animal shelter right away. Post on local Facebook lost & found pet groups and on the Nextdoor app. Ask your neighbors to check garages, sheds, and enclosed spaces—cats often get accidentally trapped. If neighbors have Ring or other security cameras, ask them to review footage for any sightings. Search nearby hiding spots like deep hedges, under decks, or quiet corners—scared cats tend to stay hidden. They usually hide during the day when it’s noisy, so the best time to search is at night when it’s calm. Bring a flashlight (their eyes will reflect the light), shake treats or kibble, and call their name gently. Make flyers ASAP. Use bright/neon poster boards with a large, clear photo so they stand out, and post them around the area where your cat was last seen.
