My little sisters Cat Mr Moo has now been missing for two days. He was last seen on Monday the 27th Of April. This is very out of character for him to have not returned for this long. He is a very friendly cat who loves smooches. If anyone has seen him please reach out. Thank you

Is he microchipped and deed? Please advise as it impacts some time sensitive advice I can share if not. Please consider a humane cat trap asap 😻 Door knock at least up to 10 houses away to ask your neighbours if they’ve seen them and to check their sheds, garages, roof spaces, caravans, trailers etc. Make up flyers for a letter box drop, put up posters. Leave out your unwashed clothing, their bedding and some smelly food to help attract them home. Also call at night and walk your neighbourhood (with someone so you’re safe) and call them while banging / rattling their food - also take some smelly food to attract them as well as a torch to help better see their eyes in the dark 😻 Call all local vets within 5km and all surrounding emergency vets within 20kms, the rangers / pounds and the Cat Haven as well as RSPCA. Ask the vets as well as the rangers where their cats are sent if not claimed and ask after how many days they’re sent there. Keep checking their websites too 🤞 Flag their microchip as missing via the relevant microchip registry. If you know their chip number, but not the registry it’s linked to (there are a few), use their chip number to find out at Pet Address. Please also check if their microchip is with HomesafeID. As they’ve now gone offline, please make sure you re-register their chip with another registry asap if they’re with them so your contact details can be accessed by vets, rangers etc. If it’s safe to do so for you and other pets, can they get back in the way they got out? It’s important to leave your unwashed clothing in the front and back yards to help them work out which house is their home 🤞

Knock on neighbours doors and ask them to please check their backyards, sheds and garages as cats can accidentally get locked in. There is a technique called the 3am walk that has helped a lot of people reunite with their pets. Displaced or scared cats will often remain in hiding and completely silent for most of the day and night. Even if it is close by and can hear you, it is unlikely your cat will respond. Because of this, the best time to head outside and call her/him is between 3-4am. Most recently, a good number of people have found their cats just from doing a 3am walk and call. It only takes a couple of fence jumps to land streets away, so do your best to cover as many streets as you can. Hopefully your cat is only a house or two away from where it escaped. Take a roast chicken with you on your walk as cats love it, or tap a can, shake some biscuits while calling your cat’s name, or what you usually say at dinner time. Try that out on your walk and take a torch with you as it will capture your cats eyeshine if hiding in bushes. Your cat will most likely leave its hiding spot around this small window of quiet time in the early hours when very quiet, so please try this technique. If no success with this please put up posters or do a letterbox drop in your street and surrounding streets with their picture and your contact details. Also leave a way into the house if they return in the early hours on their own so they can get in. Put some of your unwashed clothing out the front and their bedding, so your cat can capture the scent from those items. They can smell this from a long distance. Hopefully these will work. Most recently, a good number of people have found their cats just from doing a 3am walk and call. Good luck 🙏🏻🌺 Also contact local rangers and vets in the area in case they are handed into them.
