Hi! please help! someone posted this cat is in the neighborhood off of W 55th Ave and Marshall St with an injured tail and i believe it may be my cat and want to see if i can find it to tel! she’s chipped so i would be able to confirm as well. she has been missing since 7/8 and i would love to bring her home. please help if you can! Please know she had never been out til now and we use to live in Wheat Ridge, and she changes colors so often it will be hard to tell if it’s her by the color and markings but her tail was broken when she got out and i had just taken her to the emergency vet hospital and her primary vet and was treating her with medicine when she got out. The person who posted said the cat that came to them was very hungry and wanted pet and my baby is so friendly and sweet and i would love to know if this is her. Search Community Cat Coalition and Missing Pet Partnership for tips. Post on all lost pet sites, NextDoor and your community's Facebook page. Some people have stayed outside all night and their cats have come home in the early AM when they felt safer to come out from hiding. A drone search and pet search/rescue service will help. Cross streets & location please. Set up a scent station on your porch with her bedding & some of the families dirty clothes (the stinkier, the better). Smelling familiar scents can help her find the way home to ya. Is she microchipped? Ask neighbors. Check shelters. Post on Nextdoor, Neighborhood ring, & Life360. Hope she gets back home really soon 🙏

***POST NEXTDOOR Check ✔️ Humane Society, Animal Shelters In-Person DAILY. Some Keep Pets 5 Days then put up for Adoption. Boots on the ground - Walk ur neighborhood check window wells, under decks, inside bushes, sheds, garages, under or behind dumpsters, under staircases etc. Shake bag of cat food as u are walking calling out, calling by name, saying are u hungry, bring flashlight. Some Cats will hide during day and roam at night when it's quiet. Knock on doors and ASK permission to search their backyards. Post Flyer's on neighbor's doors

Create a scent station (items with your/your cat’s smell - unwashed bedding, clothing, cat tower, etc. Especially important if cat is in new/unfamiliar area. Do NOT put out litter pan as feces often used to mark territory and may inadvertently attract predators or territorial cats.). Check it often, especially when things are quiet (late evening/early morning). Leave the garage door open 5” overnight. Check nearby Ring/security cameras in the area. Check in and under everything inside and outside with a flashlight. Cats don’t usually go far and freeze in a tight ball in very small, tight, dark areas when scared. The flashlight catches their eyes’ stare, especially at night. Thoroughly check inside your home, especially if this is a new/shy/scared pet. Post on NextDoor app as it covers your local neighborhoods. Be sure to check your local animal shelter in person at least every other day (can’t stress enough - in person!!! You know your pet best plus animals constantly brought in). If your cat is not spayed/neutered, may be why it is “lost” and traveling further. Hope your pet is home safe and soon. The best time to look for a cat is late at night after the daytime sounds settle down. Go for a walk and take a flashlite scan into the trees and under bushes. A cat can fit in any hole that they can fit their head thru they have collapsible shoulder blades. Most indoor cats stay close to home but come out at night. Most important is to make your presence known. Go out every half hour after 9pm and call for them and stop and listen it's amazing what you can hear late at night. Get your voice and scent out there. They are looking for you also. Look for glowing eyes at night. If there is a dog sibling that the cat likes take the dog on the walk. If you open canned cat food or shake treats do so on your walk. If the cat has a noisy toy shake it on your walk. Make posters and put in every business within a mile of the home. Let your mail carrier know. If there are teenagers in the neighborhood let them know they love reward money and being a hero. Check all local shelters. Let local veterinarians know your info. If there is a feral colony near you check it out. If you can find the feeder of the colony give them your info. Make large signs and put in neighbors yards at least a mile radius of the home. This ensures that everyone in the area has the info. Put post it notes on your neighbors doors to look in sheds and garages. Post on every Facebook forum in your area. Post on Pawboost and For the love of Louie. Check Humane Society. So important to make your presence known every half hour after 9pm. Make a bed out of the cats carrier and put soiled clothes from inside the home around the bed. Put it as close to the house as you can. Leave a shed or garage open check them often. Camp in your yard. Most indoor cats are found late at night. Don't give up. Do not put food out or litter it attracts every animal in the area including raccoon opossum feral cats and coyotes. Your cat will know that there is food inside and that is incentive to keep them close to the house. If you are outside that's OK but take it in when you go back in. If your cat sees a predator eating their food it might make them retreat further. Most important is to let them know you are looking for them. Hope you find your baby
