MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Hazel is a semi feral cat that we are very attached to and were bringing her to HAWS for spaying. She was able to escape her trap in our van and when HAWS staff tried to capture her she got out of the car and headed southwest into the woods. They are setting traps but since this is unfamiliar territory for her she may travel a distance. We are devastated to lose her. She has a litter of 7 week old kittens that we are also trying to find and capture but now they are alone.

DESCRIPTION

Small dilute torti. She is semi feral and escaped her trap when we were bringing her to the HAWS SNIP clinic

Sue Brott Lorenz Praying for you and great idea to use the whistle. She's probably hunkered down close to HAWS. Keep us posted and REALLY crossing my fingers for you. <3

Wendy Bunker Thanks for the encouragement! That’s a great idea to lure the kittens! We have a patio chair cushion that Hazel always slept on so we put that near the traps. We are on 5 acres of mostly woods and we know the kittens came from them but not exactly sure which direction. We are heading back to Haws to see if we can lure her out if she is still near. She always came when we called and we have a special whistle for her. She might be settled down enough to come out.

Sue Brott Lorenz Try not to lose hope- and you’re right, it may take a little bit for her to get hungry. The kittens may already know their way to you- if you have anything with mom’s scent, try to use that near the trap. ❤️❤️

Wendy Bunker We are 14 miles from Haws so I doubt she will find her way back. Thanks for the suggestion about contacting the businesses around the facility. We are hoping she didn’t travel too far and will go into the trap Haws set for her when she gets hungry enough but I don’t have a lot of hope.
