The cat was scanned for a microchip when found. The microchip company and the rescue currently caring for the cat have been trying to contact the owner since that time. We were able to reach one of the emergency contacts listed on the microchip, who confirmed that the cat had been missing for about two months, but the owner has not responded to reclaim or release ownership of the cat.
We’re also posting here to do our due diligence in case the owner sees this post, and/or before attempting to rehome.
The cat had been trapped under a house for an extended period and was severely underweight, so it will need time to recover and heal from the deprivation.
The cat is currently safe with a rescue.Read More
