Edgar Dana Come to the place you saw him and talk in a soft normal voice for 20-30 minutes at a time. Don’t chase. Bring items with you that smell strongly of you and the cat near where you think he is . You can leave out smelly food like sardines or chicken but take it with you when you go. Keep coming back. Don’t give up. I got this from a Perplexity AI search. Good luck!

UPDATE. I spotted Elfie behind the TJ MAX shopping center. But he won't come to me. He must be freaked out because this cat and I are bonded. I need to figure out how to get him home.

Damien Christopher great advice but the cat was not lost near his home. It was lost in a very busy parking lot area of Perkins and Walmart.

Try getting a trap, cover it with a blanket and put food in it-maybe he will be attracted to it after dark.
